Ana has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and European Institutions and a Master’s degree in Political Science and Government from Università degli Studi di Milano (Milan, Italy) and is currently completing her PhD in International Law at Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski (Sofia, Bulgaria). Ana is a former Expert – Schengen, Borders, Migration and Asylum at the EU and International Cooperation Directorate, Ministry of Interior (Sofia, Bulgaria), primarily working on the Blue Card Directive and migrant integration. She has a profound interest in asylum and refugee law, terrorism and counter-terrorism, migrant integration, international and European law and human rights.
For the past two years and a half, she has been working as a project manager for EU-funded projects, primarily Erasmus+ KA1 and KA2 projects, dealing with the different stages from project proposal to research, content creation, quality management, dissemination and reporting. Ana has taken part in a vast number of transnational partner meetings and conferences as well as played the role of host for foreign partners.
